About the role
The NDI Level 2 professional is responsible for applying nondestructive inspection techniques to evaluate materials, components and systems without causing damage. The role uses ultrasonic, UTT and PE Linear Array methods to verify compliance with customer engineering requirements and to support quality assurance at Airbus Aerosystems Kinston.
Key responsibilities
- Set‑up, standardize and operate NDI equipment, process parts, interpret results and document acceptance or rejection.
- Conduct system performance checks and audit surveillance of nondestructive inspection processes, documenting any non‑conformances.
- Provide guidance and supervision to trainees and lead Level 1 NDI technicians.
- Participate in technique development, audit preparation and RCCA events.
Required profile
- Minimum 80 hours of formal classroom training in NDI techniques, including ultrasonic inspection, with supporting documentation.
- At least 800 hours of directly related NDI experience, documented.
- Ultrasonic Level II certification.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to travel up to 5 % domestically/internationally.
