New Product Introduction (NPI) Buyer

About the role

As a Buyer you will purchase materials, supplies, machinery and services that equip Applied Materials' state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facilities. You will work across teams to monitor inventory, manage delivery schedules, negotiate with suppliers and procure essential items that turn ideas into reality for customers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Source, purchase and manage materials required for new product development and introduction.
• Identify, develop and manage existing and emerging suppliers.
• Lead purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering to maintain planned inventory levels.
• Resolve material‑related design, accounting and receiving issues.
• Develop business‑simplification methods for procurement and contribute to ISO documentation.

Required profile

• Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in purchasing and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and business‑acumen skills.
• Knowledge of best practices and how the purchasing function integrates with other departments.
• Acts as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues and may lead small projects.
• Solves complex problems and takes new perspectives on existing solutions.

Required skills

• CNC equipment sourcing knowledge.
• Cost modeling and cost‑reduction expertise.
