Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician – New Ulm

About the role

Join 3M in New Ulm as a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician, where you will work alongside innovative teams to keep production equipment running reliably. This full‑time position focuses on diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of mechanical and electrical systems in a manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe work behaviors to protect yourself and coworkers.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and determine root causes of equipment failures.
• Analyze maintenance and equipment performance data to improve reliability and uptime.
• Apply operating principles of electrical power distribution system components.
• Read and work to engineering drawings, machine assembly prints, blueprints, and vendor diagrams using both U.S. customary and metric measurements.

Required profile

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Either a two‑year technical degree in a maintenance or electro‑mechanic field (completed within the last six months) OR a high school diploma/GED plus five or more years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and on‑call rotations as needed.

Required skills

• Knowledge of electrical power distribution systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis abilities.
• Proficiency reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical manuals.
• Familiarity with both U.S. customary and SI (metric) measurement systems.
