Mobile Service Mechanic

About the role

The Mobile Service Technician (MST) maintains and repairs light construction equipment such as skid steers, chippers, trenchers and mini-excavators at The Home Depot stores or nearby customer job sites. The MST makes routine store visits to inspect equipment, document its status, carry out preventive maintenance and complete work orders. The position reports directly to the regional manager and covers Tuesday to Saturday, 6:30am to 3:00pm, with candidates living within a 20-mile radius of Parker, CO.

Key responsibilities

• Train store associates and customers on equipment operation and follow all safety requirements, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Maintain MEWP certifications, accurate parts and fleet inventory, and keep vehicles compliant with company, federal and driver standards.
• Deploy new equipment to stores, including pre-delivery inspections and training.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and respond to service calls while ordering parts.
• Document all work using the company technology platform and assist with equipment deliveries and pickups.

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Meets DOT medical certification requirements; specific vision and physical abilities listed.
• Associate's degree or equivalent in a related field preferred; 3 years of experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Required skills

• Preferred: 1+ year of experience servicing construction equipment, including small engines and hydraulics.
• Preferred: reading technical repair and parts manuals, inventory management, and handheld device use.
• Preferred: Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Nevada, New York City, Ithaca (NY), Westchester County (NY) and Washington residents: $25 - $28.
