About the role
Safety‑driven operator responsible for running mobile cranes, magnet cranes, and shears to efficiently process and move scrap materials. Supports daily yard operations, including loading and unloading trucks and railcars, preparing scrap to specification, and maintaining equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Operate mobile and magnet cranes for scrap handling.
- Load and unload trucks and railcars in the yard.
- Inspect equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
- Process and grade scrap materials to meet specifications.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Strong teamwork and problem‑solving abilities.
- Commitment to Gerdau’s safety, environmental, and core values.
