About the role
Join BASF's Nutrition & Health team in Bishop, TX as a Process Engineer. You will support day‑to‑day operations, ensure safe and reliable manufacturing, and lead strategic process improvements.
Key responsibilities
- Design, optimize, and troubleshoot chemical manufacturing processes to enhance safety, quality, efficiency and reliability.
- Analyze process performance, implement improvements to increase throughput, yield and capacity.
- Provide technical support to operators, develop and maintain PFDs, P&IDs, operating procedures and calculations.
- Assess hazards, participate in PHA, HAZOP and MOC reviews, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Lead or contribute to continuous‑improvement projects focused on waste reduction, cost savings, energy efficiency and operational excellence.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
- 1‑3 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, refining, petrochemical, pharmaceuticals or related environments (3‑5 years preferred).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering and EHS teams.
Required skills
- Process design and optimization.
- Heat transfer, fluid flow, reaction engineering and mass transfer principles.
- Process simulation, modeling and data analysis tools.
- Creation and maintenance of PFDs, P&IDs and operating procedures.
- Hazard assessment methods such as HAZOP, PHA and MOC.
