ML Research Scientist – Foundation Models (Senior/Staff/Principal)

About the role

Join Genesis Molecular AI’s world‑class AI team to lead research on foundation models that accelerate drug discovery. You will shape the research agenda, drive innovative projects in generative modeling, reinforcement learning and novel architectures, and collaborate with engineers and scientists to translate breakthroughs into impact.

Key responsibilities

• Lead transformative research projects from conception to implementation, tackling core challenges in generative modeling for molecular systems.
• Design and develop novel models and algorithms, building upon the latest literature in diffusion models, flow matching, reinforcement learning, and large‑scale language models.
• Execute ambitious experiments at scale using world‑class computational infrastructure to validate hypotheses.
• Collaborate intensely with a multidisciplinary team to translate research into tangible impact on the drug discovery platform.
• Publish research findings and represent Genesis at top AI/ML conferences and workshops.
• Mentor and guide other researchers and engineers, fostering a culture of shared learning and innovation.

Required profile

• Deep learning expert with a portfolio of novel research in generative or predictive modeling.
• Independent, first‑principles thinker with strong ownership of research projects.
• Strong coder comfortable diving into the engineering stack to build, debug, and ship models.
• Curious, problem‑oriented mind excited by the intersection of AI, physics, chemistry, and biology.
• True team player with excellent communication skills thriving in collaborative, mission‑driven environments.

Required skills

• Deep learning and generative modeling (diffusion, flow matching).
• Reinforcement learning and foundation model architectures.
• PyTorch, PyTorch Lightning, Ray Distributed Training, PyTorch Geometric.
• Distributed training and inference of large models on GPU clusters.
