Mission Operations Engineer – Underwater Platform

About the role

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Mission Operations Engineer to support the deployment, validation, and continuous improvement of its underwater unmanned vessels. You will work within the Platform Acceptance team, ensuring new assets meet rigorous technical and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of vehicle hardware and software architecture and how the system operates as an integrated whole.
• Plan and execute structured field tests covering autonomous navigation, perception, communications, and sensor integration.
• Troubleshoot autonomy, networking, and onboard hardware/software issues in real time during test events.
• Own data logging and telemetry monitoring, guaranteeing data integrity for post‑test analysis.
• Lead root‑cause analysis (RCCA) and issue‑triage workflows, reporting to review boards to prevent repeat problems.
• Maintain autonomous vessels and test environments, using telemetry tools and onboard diagnostics to enhance reliability.
• Ensure testing complies with DoD performance, safety, and compliance standards when applicable.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of hands‑on engineering experience in design or test teams.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines.
