Middle School Tutor – Upper Manhattan & Bronx

About the role

Prep Academy Tutors is seeking enthusiastic Middle School Tutors to provide one‑on‑one academic support for students in grades 6‑8 across Upper Manhattan and the Bronx. Tutors will help learners build strong foundations in core subjects while fostering confidence and independent study habits.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalized tutoring in Reading, Writing, Mathematics, and other middle‑school subjects.
• Assist students with homework, study strategies, and organizational skills.
• Create individualized learning plans based on each student’s needs and goals.
• Monitor progress and communicate regularly with families about achievements and challenges.
• Travel to students’ homes throughout Upper Manhattan and the Bronx to conduct sessions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or teaching certification preferred.
• Experience teaching or tutoring middle‑school students.
• Strong understanding of middle‑school curriculum and instructional strategies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
• Reliable transportation and authorization to work in the United States.
