Mid Level Network QA Engineer – Field Testing

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Network QA Engineer to perform LTE and 5G field protocol testing, as well as SIM OTA activation testing. The role involves developing and executing test strategies, validating user equipment (UE) functionality on 4G/5G air interfaces, and ensuring compliance with carrier requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform drive and stationary testing across Washington State, capturing and post‑processing UE logs with tools such as Accuver XCAL/XCAP, QXDM/QCAT, Wireshark, and Spirent.
• Analyze UE performance, troubleshoot issues from customer labs and field sites, and provide optimization recommendations.
• Communicate daily test progress, status updates, and detailed issue reports to engineering and project leads.
• Determine risk items, set up test plans, and travel up to 25% of the time while maintaining a valid driver’s license.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in a technical field.
• 2‑5 years of experience with 3G/4G/5G/LTE testing, preferably with Android devices.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to work independently in a mobile environment (80% field, 20% office).

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of LTE, 4G, 5G NR, and radio access network architecture.
• Hands‑on experience with UE log capture tools: Accuver XCAL/XCAP, QXDM, QCAT, Wireshark, Spirent.
• Proficiency in OTA signaling, IMS, VoLTE, VoWiFi, ViLTE, RCS, and SIM OTA activation.
• Experience analyzing KPIs and troubleshooting IMS‑related features.
