Mental Health Advocate – WARN Program

About the role

The WARN Mental Health Advocate provides peer‑to‑peer psychosocial support to survivors of trafficking, helping them build resilience and access mental‑health resources. Working within the International Rescue Committee’s Seattle office, the role blends direct client interaction with program coordination and data collection.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑on‑one psychosocial support and manualized interventions, develop individualized action plans, and refer clients to culturally appropriate mental‑health providers.
• Facilitate psycho‑education and skill‑building group sessions, recruit participants, and manage logistics such as scheduling, transportation, and materials.
• Document client interactions, prepare service reports, and assist with program evaluation through data entry and analysis.
• Participate in team meetings, collaborate with internal partners, and represent the WARN program at outreach events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human development, or equivalent professional/lived experience.
• Lived experience as a refugee or immigrant preferred; otherwise, experience working with refugee/immigrant populations.
• Understanding of migration, resettlement, and social‑service systems.
• Fluent in English and Spanish (or other relevant language) with strong intercultural communication skills.
• Proficient computer, email, and general office skills; valid driver’s license and insurance.
