Medical Simulation Operator

About the role

The Medical Simulation Operator supports critical‑care and aeromedical training by managing high‑fidelity patient simulators. The role is part‑time, on‑site in St. Paul, and aligns with class schedules, typically 4 days per month.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, configure, program, and troubleshoot Laerdal, Nasco, iSimulate and LLEAP human patient simulators.
• Set up, manage, and restore simulation environments before and after training events.
• Adjust scenarios in real time to maintain clinical realism and meet training objectives.
• Support the Learning Management System (LMS) to monitor learner performance.
• Provide technical expertise for advanced medical education and simulation‑based learning initiatives.

Required profile

• Certified Medical Simulation Operator with current BLS‑HCP certification.
• At least 1 year of clinical experience in a military or civilian healthcare setting.
• Minimum 1 year of experience programming human patient simulators.
• Familiarity with Air Force trauma clinical skills, AFMS Clinical Practice Guidelines, and relevant military policies.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and work in low‑light, high‑volume simulation environments.
• Completion of Antiterrorism Awareness Level I training and ability to sign an NDA.

Required skills

• Programming and configuring Laerdal, Nasco, iSimulate and LLEAP simulators.
• Proficiency with SharePoint and standard word‑processing software.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Knowledge of audiovisual systems, moulage creation, hyper‑realistic simulators, and task trainers.
