Medical Illustrator

About the role

DecisivEdge’s Patient Education team is looking for a Medical Illustrator to create accurate, engaging visual content for its 5thPort digital patient‑education platform. You will work closely with healthcare professionals, project directors and creative creators to turn complex medical information into clear illustrations, storyboards and multimedia assets that help patients and caregivers understand conditions and treatments.

Key responsibilities

• Create medically accurate illustrations and visual assets for patient‑education materials, including digital brochures, videos and animations.
• Develop visual concepts, storyboards and multimedia assets for videos, digital brochures, animation and other patient‑education experiences.
• Conduct medical and scientific research to ensure visual accuracy and collaborate with healthcare providers to validate content.
• Participate in client consultations, present visual concepts and incorporate feedback while maintaining medical accuracy.
• Organize, maintain and upload approved illustrations and multimedia assets to the 5thPort platform.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Medical Illustration, Biomedical Communications, Biomedical Visualization or a closely related field.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating medical/scientific illustration and visual communication skills.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and comfort interacting with clients and healthcare professionals.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience with illustration software (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Experience with animation and video tools (e.g., After Effects).
• Familiarity with 3D visualization or interactive content tools (optional but beneficial).
