Medical Assistant

About the role

The Medical Assistant will provide essential clinical support within the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). Working closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, you will help ensure smooth patient flow and high‑quality care.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with patient intake, vital signs, and basic examinations.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain cleanliness and infection‑control standards.
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record.
• Support physicians during procedures and provide post‑procedure instructions.
• Coordinate patient scheduling, referrals, and follow‑up appointments.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
• Strong communication skills and a patient‑focused attitude.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
