Mediator – Insurance & Financial Services Division

About the role

The Attorney General’s Office is hiring a Mediator for its Insurance & Financial Services Division in Boston. You will help consumers resolve disputes related to investments, annuities, lending, and insurance while supporting the Division’s consumer‑protection mission.

Key responsibilities

• Mediate consumer complaints, especially those involving investments, annuities, and lending disputes.
• Research and analyze issues to provide accurate information, referrals, and guidance.
• Collaborate with other government agencies and community partners.
• Assist in investigations, litigation, and policy development related to financial services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or at least four years of relevant experience.
• Familiarity with securities, investments, and consumer lending preferred.
• Strong verbal communication skills, including active listening and clear explanation of complex topics.
• Excellent written communication, with experience drafting letters, memos, and summaries.
• Ability to assess complex situations, organize information, and manage time effectively.

Required skills

• Data analysis proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Excel.
