Media Producer

About the role

The Media Producer will join a fast‑growing, left‑of‑center YouTube channel focused on advocacy, journalism, and education. Working remotely from the United States, you will create news‑driven video content that aims to influence public policy and empower the working class.

Key responsibilities

• Develop video concepts, pitch story ideas weekly, and identify on‑camera talent.
• Research, script, and host YouTube videos, including desk reads and on‑location shoots.
• Conduct basic reporting: interview subjects, submit FOIA requests, and gather public comments.
• Monitor news, hearings, and press conferences to spot newsworthy moments.
• Write scripts, articles, tweets, and other social‑media copy to accompany video clips.
• Collaborate with video editors, policy staff, and communications team to refine content and meet publishing schedules.
• Identify workflow inefficiencies and propose solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in journalism, advocacy, or related media production.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet hard deadlines, and work independently.
• Strong interest in economic justice and policy debates.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
