Mechanical Engineer III – New College Graduate (PhD) – Summer 2027 Cohort

About the role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will apply a strong foundation in physics, mathematics, and materials science to solve mechanical problems, design custom tooling, and support the handling, assembly, and disassembly of components throughout the product life cycle. The role is part of the Semiconductor Product Group’s New College Graduate training cohort beginning in July 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Design or modify basic mechanical engineering layouts, schematics, and drawings/specifications under supervision.
• Coordinate procurement and assembly of mechanical components and equipment for design projects, identifying sources of critical parts.
• Perform and document engineering test reports and generate alpha/gamma documentation for product releases.
• Conduct engineering analysis and troubleshoot mechanical problems of general difficulty under supervision.
• Help design, develop, and implement custom mechanical tooling, fixturing, and associated processes.

Required profile

• Doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
• Familiarity with basic theories and concepts of mechanical engineering.
• Availability to start full‑time and join the Semiconductor Product Group’s New College Graduate training cohort in July 2027.
• Experience in the semiconductor fab or equipment industry is preferred.
