Mechanical Engineer – HVAC & Refrigeration Systems

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and analysis of HVAC and refrigeration systems for commercial and industrial projects. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver innovative, energy‑efficient solutions that meet client specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead system design and analysis for HVAC and refrigeration, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Prepare detailed submittals, including airflow diagrams, sequences of operation, product data, calculations, and conceptual sketches.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate designs, adjust specifications, and support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Support the Director of Engineering on strategic initiatives and contribute to department SOP development.
• Participate in client meetings to discuss scope, provide recommendations, and ensure cost‑effective, energy‑efficient outcomes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience designing HVAC and refrigeration systems, preferably in cleanrooms, industrial labs, or cold storage.
• Strong knowledge of refrigerant types, thermodynamics, and heat transfer; experience with trans‑critical CO₂ and A2L systems is a plus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license highly desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD and REVIT.
• Experience with load calculation and equipment selection software.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE, SMACNA, and AHRI codes and standards.
• Knowledge of BIM360 or Procore platforms.
• Strong command of MS Teams, Microsoft Office suite (MS Projects, Excel, etc.).
