Mechanical Engineer – Fluid Systems

About the role

Radiant is developing portable nuclear micro‑reactors and needs a Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, build, and production of its fluid systems. You will work on the primary loop and power conversion loop that turn reactor heat into electricity.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end engineering of fluid subsystems, including compressors, valves, and heat exchangers.
• Conduct thermal‑hydraulic and fluid dynamics analyses using hand calculations and finite‑element tools.
• Perform trade studies, component selection, and risk analysis (FMEA) to meet program requirements.
• Develop manufacturing, assembly, and test procedures; create and manage the Bill‑of‑Materials.
• Identify, qualify, and manage suppliers for all components.
• Coordinate sub‑assembly design, production schedules, and testing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Aeronautical, Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience designing, building, and testing fluid systems.
• Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat‑exchanger design.
