About the role

HEI is seeking a highly motivated Field Mechanic to support its Denver metropolitan operations. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of Caterpillar construction equipment, ensuring reliable performance across a variety of civil projects.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy construction equipment.
• Request and order parts as needed.
• Prioritize repairs based on project requirements.
• Follow supervisor instructions and complete DOT documentation promptly.
• Travel to job sites throughout the Denver metro area.
• Perform daily pre‑trip inspections and regular maintenance on service trucks.
• Track and record daily parts invoices.
• Create and complete work orders accurately and on time.
• Share knowledge and ideas to improve productivity.
• Continuously develop technical skills.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and a desire for continuous learning.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic understanding of safe work practices and a clean driving record.
• Full set of tools for heavy‑equipment repair.
• Familiarity with OEM standards.

Required skills

• Experience repairing Caterpillar equipment.
• Knowledge of Cat SIS and Cat ET systems.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B or higher.
• Heavy‑equipment maintenance and repair.
