Materials Coordinator – Red Line Extension Project

About the role

The Materials Coordinator will support the $2.9 BN Red Line Extension (RLE) project in Chicago, ensuring all permanent and temporary materials meet quality and contractual requirements. You will work closely with construction managers, engineers, and CTA representatives to maintain accurate material records and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and supervise material tracking logs and documentation.
• Coordinate receipt, logging, and upload of material submittals (datasheets, certifications, test reports) to the CTA Project Website.
• Manage the Buy America/Build America compliance process.
• Review and interpret material test results, resolving quality issues with internal and external teams.
• Participate in pre‑activity, progress, and site‑walk meetings to monitor material delivery, storage, and usage.
• Maintain QC records, perform self‑audits, and support project close‑out and punch‑list inspections.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction material coordination or quality control.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license.
• Strong written communication skills for reports, procedures, and documentation.
• Proactive health‑ and safety mindset when on‑site or in the office.
