Material Planner Analyst

About the role

3M is seeking a Material Planner Analyst to join its Springfield, MO plant. In this role you will support supply‑chain operations by aligning inventory with demand, driving cross‑functional projects, and improving service levels.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cross‑functional initiatives to enhance service, reduce cost, and optimise inventory.
• Develop and maintain operating rhythms that ensure smooth supply‑chain execution.
• Provide planning analysis and present service and inventory metrics to leadership.
• Manage the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process and monitor working and non‑working inventories.
• Collaborate with business units and manufacturing to align forecasts, lead times, and inventory levels.
• Utilise supply‑chain tools such as PMCS, Peoplesoft, and Factory Planner.
• Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to improve inventory turns and reduce excess stock.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of procurement or planning experience, OR a high school diploma/GED with 8 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to think critically, multitask, and act with a sense of urgency.
• Strong internal and external customer‑service orientation.
