Material Handler

About the role

The Material Handler supports routine inventory, shipping and receiving functions in a warehouse environment, working under direct supervision. This position ensures that stock items are accurately received, stored, and prepared for outbound shipments while maintaining a safe and organized work area.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, count, and record stock items using manual methods or a mobile computer.
• Pack, unpack, and label items for storage on shelves, in stockrooms, or in storage yards.
• Prepare parcels and crates for outbound shipments and verify inventory counts.
• Store items orderly, using appropriate identification tags, stamps, or electric marking tools.
• Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and carts.
• Determine proper storage methods based on turnover, environmental factors, and facility capabilities.
• Inspect stock items for wear or defects and report any damage.
• Assist other warehouse and storage yard workers as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum one (1) year of experience in a warehouse environment.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license.
• Ability to maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card.

• Forklift operation.
• Pallet jack operation.
• Mobile computer usage for inventory tracking.
• Labeling equipment operation.
