Material Handler – 1st Shift

About the role

The Material Handler works the first shift to store, ship, receive, and replenish finished goods for fire‑sprinkler contractors. The role involves handling parcels, LTL, truckload, and private carrier shipments in a non‑climate‑controlled warehouse.

Key responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, lift trucks, side loaders, pallet trucks, and pickers to move materials throughout the warehouse.
• Scan barcodes with handheld devices to track inventory and ensure accurate deliveries.
• Complete daily forklift inspection reports and maintain equipment safety.
• Assist Will‑Call customers courteously and report backorders to Customer Service.
• Identify and report inventory discrepancies, safety hazards, and equipment issues to supervisors.

Required profile

• Outstanding organization and documentation skills with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, and a solid commitment to teamwork.

Required skills

• Forklift operation and certification.
• Lift truck, side loader, picker, and pallet truck operation.
• Proficiency with AS400 and Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Basic mathematics for inventory calculations.
