Marine Build Engineer

About the role

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Marine Build Engineer to lead the design, integration, and commissioning of auxiliary machinery and fluid systems for autonomous surface vessels. You will work closely with remote design teams while overseeing hands‑on installation and testing at the shipyard.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in design, analysis, and integration of auxiliary systems such as bilge pumps, ballast, fire suppression, hydraulics, and fluid transfer.
• Produce and manage CAD models, perform system optimization, and document as‑built changes.
• Act as liaison between engineering, drafting, and production to resolve technical issues during construction.
• Identify non‑conformances, lead root‑cause analysis, and drive resolutions through Issue Review Boards.
• Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) ensuring traceability, communication, implementation, and verification.
• Support integration of autonomous navigation and control systems into vessel designs.
• Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of pumps, piping, valves, heat exchangers, and fire suppression equipment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, or a related field.
• Familiarity with maritime standards such as ABS machinery and piping requirements, NFPA fire protection standards, and US Coast Guard regulations.
• Experience working in a shipyard environment with marine auxiliary systems, pumps, and piping installations.
