Manufacturing Supervisor – Shift Lead (Cottage Grove, MN)

About the role

The Manufacturing Supervisor will lead a production team at 3M’s Cottage Grove facility, overseeing two 12‑hour shifts (5 AM‑5 PM and 5 PM‑5 AM). The role focuses on safe, efficient operations, cross‑training, and continuous improvement in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Guide personnel to ensure safe handling and disposal of hazardous waste in compliance with environmental and EHS standards.
• Schedule work priorities, allocate assignments, and monitor workflow to meet production targets.
• Coach employees, provide feedback, and resolve conflicts through corrective actions.
• Train staff on Cottage Grove processes, tools, and equipment, and maintain certification requirements.
• Conduct safety audits, job safety analyses, and housekeeping inspections.
• Troubleshoot process, maintenance, and equipment issues, minimizing downtime while respecting safety limits.
• Analyze statistical data to identify trends and develop improvement plans.
• Manage shift administrative tasks such as time reporting, attendance, and overtime documentation.
