Maintenance Planner/Scheduler

About the role

3M is seeking a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to join its global team. In this position you will coordinate maintenance activities, ensure accurate work order management, and support efficient plant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Review incoming work orders to determine material needs, craftsperson time, priorities, and scheduling requirements.
• Estimate job costs—including labor, materials, tools, and equipment downtime—and obtain approval before scheduling.
• Develop weekly maintenance schedules based on material availability, production demands, and labor resources.
• Maintain accurate shop work orders in the Maintenance Management System for proper accounting and record keeping.
• Compare actual versus planned work order performance to evaluate planning effectiveness and identify issues.

Required profile

• At least 18 years of age.
• Associate’s degree or higher in Maintenance, Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, or a similar manufacturing/operations role.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to complete any required 3M testing as part of the selection process.
