Manufacturing Supervisor – Rotating 7‑on/7‑off Shifts

About the role

3M is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead a team on a rotating 7‑days‑on/7‑days‑off schedule at its Cottage Grove facility. You will ensure safe, efficient production while fostering a culture of cross‑training, innovation, and teamwork.

Key responsibilities

• Guide personnel to safely handle and dispose of hazardous waste.
• Schedule work priorities, coordinate maintenance, allocate assignments, and monitor workflow.
• Coach employees, provide feedback, and address conflicts or inappropriate behavior.
• Train staff on all operational processes and ensure they have the necessary tools and information.
• Maintain a safe work environment by reviewing OSHA requirements and conducting safety audits.
• Resolve process, equipment, and technical issues using available resources.
• Monitor equipment downtime, analyze statistical data to identify trends, and develop improvement plans.
• Communicate safety, productivity, quality, and maintenance concerns to appropriate staff.
• Complete housekeeping audits, job safety analyses, incident reports, and work requests.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead and develop production teams.
• Strong focus on safety, compliance, and environmental responsibility.
• Effective communicator able to deliver coaching, crew meetings, and 1:1 sessions.
• Experience scheduling work, coordinating maintenance, and managing shift administration.

Required skills

• Statistical data analysis and trend interpretation.
• Process troubleshooting and equipment maintenance coordination.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and hazardous waste handling.
