Manufacturing Process Engineer (Automated Converting & Packaging)

This position offers a transition into a 3M career for professionals from private, public, government or military backgrounds. As a Manufacturing Process Engineer you will collaborate with innovative 3Mers worldwide, focusing on automated converting and packaging processes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and serve as subject‑matter expert for automated converting and packaging processes at the plant.
• Initiate and conduct technical tasks and programs aimed at safety improvement, process improvement, cost reduction, capital investments, new product introductions and new technologies.
• Establish and cultivate a support network across EHS, laboratory, quality, plant engineering, supply chain and other functions.
• Utilize data resources to identify and drive major improvement opportunities.
• Enhance plant PPU in automated converting to improve product quality and Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
• Manage documentation including work instructions, process standards and technical documents.
• Coach and mentor technical resources.
• Be on call to support 24/7 manufacturing operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• At least one year of experience as a process/manufacturing engineer, project engineer or reliability engineer in a private, public, government or military environment.
• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering preferred.
• Experience with automated, high‑throughput processes.
• Experience with high‑speed automated case packing and palletizing processes.
• Proven ability to solve manufacturing problems using equipment, systems, materials and procedures.
• Experience with statistical analysis of process data and establishing process control standards.
