Manufacturing Operations Manager – Cleanroom

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manager II to lead production activities in a clean‑room environment. The role focuses on supervising manufacturing of high‑purity weldments and capital equipment, ensuring quality, safety, and on‑time delivery while supporting continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise employees across assembly, inspection, testing and final test functions for capital equipment and subsystems.
• Prioritize production schedules based on manpower, equipment efficiency, capacity and material availability.
• Track and improve key performance indicators such as weld defect rates, first‑time‑through yield and cleanroom utilization.
• Lead safety initiatives, ensure PPE compliance, and oversee environmental, health and safety training.
• Develop staff through training, performance management, hiring and career development.
• Drive Lean, quality and process improvements, and act as the interface for customer and vendor requirements.

Required profile

• Proven ability to establish and monitor manufacturing metrics and optimize throughput.
• Strong understanding of upstream and downstream processes for ultra‑high‑purity weldments.
• Experience supervising production teams in a clean‑room setting.
• Demonstrated leadership in safety, quality and Lean initiatives.
