Manufacturing Engineer III

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer III to develop and maintain methods, operating sequences, and processes for fabricating parts, components, sub‑assemblies, and final assemblies. The role works closely with other engineering functions to release product improvements and new products while driving cost reduction, quality improvement, and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain fabrication methods, operating sequences, and processes for all product levels.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional engineering teams to release product improvements and new products.
• Lead design‑for‑excellence (DFx) initiatives to estimate and reduce manufacturing costs and improve quality.
• Determine time standards and recommend tooling and process requirements.
• Create and execute test procedures, evaluate results, and assess work methods and policies.
• Perform root‑cause analysis, PFMEA, and generate corrective‑action reports.
• Mentor and train junior engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• 4–7 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Demonstrated ability to solve technical problems on the job.
• Strong interpersonal skills for clear communication and consensus building.

• Design for Excellence (DFx) methodology.
• Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
