Manufacturing Engineer – Decatur, AL

About the role

Join 3M’s Decatur Multi‑Layer Optical Film (MOF) production team as a Manufacturing Engineer. You will work alongside global innovators to improve safety, quality, service and cost while supporting a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement safety, quality, service and productivity improvements in MOF production.
• Assist local and global teams with rapid issue resolution, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Lead scale‑up projects for new products and collaborate on cross‑functional teams.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement tools to drive operational gains.
• Create training materials, process standards and documentation for production lines.
• Provide coverage for production and experimental runs as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in an engineering discipline, completed before start date.
• At least one year of experience or internship in process, product, or manufacturing engineering, or quality.
• Strong organization, communication, project management and coaching abilities.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
