Manufacturing Engineer – Decatur, AL

About the role

Join 3M’s Decatur Multi‑Layer Optical Film (MOF) production team as a Manufacturing Engineer. You will work in a 24/7 environment, applying your curiosity and engineering expertise to improve safety, quality, service, and productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement improvements in safety, quality, service, and cost within the MOF production areas.
• Assist local and global manufacturing teams in rapid issue resolution, including root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Lead scale‑up of new products and collaborate on cross‑functional projects.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement tools to drive operational gains.
• Create training materials, process standards, and documentation for production lines.
• Provide coverage for production and experimental runs as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (verified before start).
• At least one year of experience or an internship in process, product, or manufacturing engineering, or related quality roles.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% and consider relocation assistance if needed.
