About the role
The Manager, Process Engineering leads the development and release of engineering work instructions for the SPARC tokamak assembly, overseeing a team of process engineers and ensuring efficient execution of thousands of planning tasks.
Key responsibilities
- Lead a team of 8‑15 process engineers to develop, release and implement technical work instructions for the SPARC tokamak assembly.
- Define and optimize process engineering workflows, standards and tracking tools to manage hundreds of planning tasks.
- Collaborate with field assembly, design engineering and subsystem experts to resolve technical conflicts and influence design direction.
- Support hands‑on operations during tokamak assembly and provide design feedback for manufacturability.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience with demonstrated project ownership.
- 2+ years of experience managing an engineering team or large‑scale engineering projects.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lb and work in industrial environments with hazards such as high voltage, cryogenics, and strong magnets.
Required skills
- Proficiency with CAD software.
- Experience using Siemens NX.
- Knowledge of welding and piping/tubing construction and joining.
- Experience with complex or delicate assemblies in tightly packaged spaces.
