About the role
The Maintenance Technician ensures that the physical aspects of The Cameron property—including buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas—meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, appearance, safety, and functionality. This hourly position performs technical and mechanical work, handles resident service requests, and prepares vacant units for new occupants.
Key responsibilities
- Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing them according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
- Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final quality checks.
- Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage, restocking, and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
- Maintain common areas and amenities by cleaning, pressure‑washing, trash removal, and painting curbs or signage as required.
- Inspect contractor and vendor work to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Participate in safety meetings, complete OSHA training, and report accidents promptly.
Required profile
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, lift up to 25 lb independently (50 lb with assistance) and work in all weather conditions.
- Flexible schedule including on‑call duties during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license for operating a golf cart when needed.
Required skills
- EPA Type I & II refrigerant recycling certification (or Universal certification).
- State and local certifications required for service technicians.
- Preventative maintenance and make‑ready inspection expertise.
- Inventory tracking and documentation proficiency.
- Use of hand and power tools for repairs and installations.
