Maintenance Technician – Student Living Apartments

About the role

This position performs technical and mechanical work to ensure the buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas of Eastgate Apartments meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, appearance, safety and overall functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing according to policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Prepare vacant apartments for new move‑ins by conducting pre‑move‑out inspections, creating punch lists, scheduling vendors, completing repairs and inspecting finished work.
• Maintain common areas and amenities by cleaning, pressure‑washing, trash removal, and painting curbs or signage as needed.
• Inspect contractor work to verify quality and compliance with specifications, and assist with routine property inspections for safety and risk management.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of property or building maintenance experience.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license (required for operating a golf cart on larger properties).

Required skills

• EPA refrigerant recycling certifications – Type I, Type II or Universal.
• Proficiency with Internet, word processing, spreadsheet and database management software for reporting and documentation.
• Basic HVAC knowledge and ability to obtain additional state or local certifications as required.
