Maintenance Technician – Starting at $31.95/hr

About the role

As a Maintenance Technician at Nestlé Purina’s Fort Dodge plant, you will maintain and repair a wide range of plant systems, ensuring reliable operation of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and instrumentation equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on plant equipment, including vibration analysis and oil sampling.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems such as motors, PLCs, gear reducers, conveyors, and packaging machinery.
• Maintain building utilities including wastewater treatment, boiler operations, and cooling towers.
• Use test equipment like multimeters, megohmmeters, and process simulators to diagnose issues.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED with at least 1 year of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, or a vocational certificate/technical degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, or Mechatronics.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and a 12‑hour 2/3 shift schedule.

Required skills

• Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and instrumentation maintenance.
• Electrical controls troubleshooting, including motors and PLCs.
• Use of multimeters, megohmmeters, and process simulators.
• Repair of gear reducers, belt and screw conveyors, chain elevators, and packaging equipment.
• Experience with wastewater systems, boiler operations, and cooling towers.
• Predictive maintenance techniques such as vibration analysis and oil sampling.
