Maintenance Technician - Sign-on Bonus

About the role

Our Crete, Nebraska plant is one of the largest wet pet‑food manufacturing facilities in the U.S., producing over a thousand tons of pet food daily for brands such as Alpo®, Purina ONE®, Pro Plan®, Friskies® and Veterinary Diets®. The Maintenance Technician ensures reliable operation of all plant systems while supporting safety, efficiency and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and instrumentation systems across the facility.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical control systems, including motors and PLCs.
• Use test equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters and process simulators to diagnose issues.
• Repair gear reducers, belt and screw conveyors, chain elevators and packaging equipment.
• Maintain wastewater treatment, boiler operations, cooling towers and general building utilities.
• Perform predictive maintenance activities such as vibration analysis and oil sampling.

Required profile

• At least 6 months of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, military or related environment, or a completed 2‑year technical degree.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed.

Required skills

• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and instrumentation systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical controls, motors and PLCs.
• Proficiency with test equipment (multimeters, megohmmeters, process simulators).
• Experience with predictive maintenance techniques such as vibration analysis and oil sampling.
