Maintenance Technician – Island Square

About the role

Island Square has an immediate opening for an experienced Maintenance Technician. Our high‑performing team cares about customer service and exceeds expectations. The role involves technical and mechanical work to keep buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas clean, safe, and fully functional.

Key responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests and preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Perform the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final quality checks.
• Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document work orders and paperwork accurately and promptly for tracking and reporting.
• Assist with grounds and common‑area upkeep such as trash removal, pressure‑washing, and painting of curbs and signage.
• Support cost‑control by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever possible.

Required profile

• Knowledgeable in safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment.
• Experience with painting, entry‑level carpentry, appliance repair, and basic plumbing.
• Professional demeanor and appearance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with the MS Office Suite.
