Maintenance Technician – Downtown LA

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the physical upkeep of its downtown Los Angeles property. The role involves performing technical and mechanical work to ensure buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident service requests and complete preventative maintenance work orders, diagnosing issues and repairing according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, repairs, and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document all service requests and maintenance activities accurately and promptly.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, performing general cleaning, and painting curbs and signage as needed.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing parts whenever possible rather than replacing them.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of maintenance experience; EPA certification preferred.
• Availability for on‑call schedule: Sunday through Thursday, with Fridays and Saturdays off.
• Eligibility for a 20% housing discount.
