Maintenance Technician – Avana Chestnut

About the role

The Maintenance Technician ensures that the physical aspects of the Avana Chestnut property—including buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas—meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety and functionality. This full‑time, onsite role involves responding to resident requests, performing preventative maintenance and preparing vacant units for new occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident service requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing defects in accordance with policies and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination and final quality checks.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, tracking usage and notifying the supervisor of re‑order needs.
• Maintain common areas and grounds by trash removal, pressure‑washing, general cleaning and painting of curbs and signage.
• Inspect contractor work and assist with routine property inspections to identify safety or repair concerns.

Required profile

• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, lift up to 25 lb independently (50 lb with assistance) and work in all weather conditions.
• EPA Type I, Type II or Universal certification for refrigerant recycling and any state‑required licenses.
• Valid driver’s license for operating a golf cart on the property.
• Flexibility to work a rotating schedule that includes evenings, weekends and holidays for on‑call duties.

Required skills

• EPA refrigerant recycling certification (Type I, Type II or Universal).
