Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift (Packaging Equipment)

About the role

The Maintenance Technician works the 2nd shift on AbbVie’s packaging lines, performing installation, preventive maintenance, and repairs to keep equipment running efficiently and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Document all tasks according to procedures and compliance requirements.
• Support cleaning activities and maintain packaging equipment in optimal condition.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and correct mechanical or electronic equipment failures.
• Adjust or repair equipment to improve efficiency, OEE performance, and product quality.
• Assist with feeding materials into packaging equipment throughout the process.
• Perform line changeovers and configuration adjustments for different product presentations.
• Inspect equipment to ensure operation within established parameters and maintain a clean, organized, GMP‑compliant work area.

Required profile

• Associate Degree in Industrial Mechanics, Electronics, or a related technical discipline.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Basic verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Basic mathematical calculation skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with mechanical tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electronic issues.
• Operation of computerized systems and interpretation of electronic circuit diagrams.
• Basic skills in reading graphs or diagrams.
