Maintenance Service Professional

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Maintenance Service Professional in Rochester, NH, to provide commercial and industrial minor equipment repair and preventive maintenance in big box retailers and other facilities. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm, and candidates must live within 10 miles of Rochester. The technician works from various locations within a reasonable radius of home and drives a company vehicle.

Key responsibilities

• Document all work performed on equipment using the company platform, including labor and parts, and maintain parts inventory
• File expense reports and complete tech stock replenishment for the company vehicle
• Communicate proactively with business partners and customers about customer needs, parts and service
• Perform preventive maintenance and light repairs on equipment such as paint shakers, mobility carts, power stocker lifts, dock plates, pipe threaders, ladders, wood saws, tile saws, wire and carpet carousels, compactors, bailers, densifiers, pre-crushers, and light carpentry, painting, electrical and plumbing
• Respond to on-site preventive maintenance calls and troubleshoot minor equipment issues
• Travel between stores, sometimes requiring an overnight stay (5% to 20% of the time)
• Follow safety rules, complete pre- and post-vehicle inspections, and adhere to driving and vehicle standards

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• Willingness to obtain EPA 608 certification and remove refrigerant for recycling
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs, climb equipment and work at heights up to 20 feet
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, around fumes, oils and chemicals, and with occasional prolonged standing or walking

Required skills

• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Medium proficiency with tablets, smartphones and laptops
• Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills
• Preferred: Microsoft Office, basic electrical experience, reading schematics and parts lists, 2 years of relevant experience
