Maintenance Planner Scheduler – Wausau, WI

About the role

As a Maintenance Planner Scheduler you will collaborate with innovative 3Mers worldwide, managing maintenance work‑control processes to minimize downtime and maximize plant productivity. You will prioritize, plan, and schedule preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities up to a month in advance.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritize, plan, schedule and follow‑up on all maintenance work requests, ensuring accurate job plans for PM, PDM and corrective tasks.
• Act as the primary liaison between the garage and operations, ensuring timely service of rolling stock and related equipment.
• Review incoming work orders, determine material, craft, and skill requirements, and allocate resources accordingly.
• Inspect equipment to define scope, safety issues, tooling, permits and special instructions.
• Generate work orders by evaluating prints and documentation, providing clear and complete scopes.
• Maintain metrics on planning performance and report to the Plant Engineering manager.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or higher.
• Six (6) years of maintenance and/or manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
• Four (4) years of experience as a maintenance planner/scheduler.
• Demonstrated ability to estimate labor hours, material needs, and required skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Experience using SAP for maintenance planning.
• Ability to read and interpret standard blueprints, machine and process drawings.
• Capability to sketch or redline existing drawings.
