Maintenance Mechanic Specialist – Manufacturing

About the role

Provide a wide variety of duties involving numerous trades in the maintenance and repair of company facilities, equipment and machines, working under the direction and guidance of the Maintenance Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Lead troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on production equipment.
• Perform scheduled and emergency repairs to reduce downtime and keep operations on track.
• Oversee and participate in regular preventative maintenance, ensuring it is completed correctly and on time.
• Review and improve maintenance procedures, providing feedback on areas needing attention.
• Identify potential breakdowns or safety issues early and communicate them to management.
• Recommend equipment upgrades or improvements to boost reliability and efficiency.
• Train, mentor, and support less‑experienced maintenance team members.
• Perform basic pipe‑fitting, forklift, scissor‑lift, and pallet‑jack operations safely.

Required profile

• Moderate to advanced knowledge of mechanical components such as valves, pressure regulators, pipe fittings, bearings, belts, and gearboxes.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical prints, schematics, and hydraulic diagrams.
• Experience working independently and as part of a team, with strong responsibility and attention to detail.
• Understanding and enforcement of safe work practices including LOTO, working at heights, compressed gases, and forklift safety.
• Capability to lift 50 lb and obtain forklift certification.
• General computer proficiency for logging and reporting maintenance data.

• Mechanical component knowledge (valves, regulators, fittings, bearings, belts, gearboxes).
• Reading mechanical and hydraulic schematics.
• CNC milling machine operation.
• Saw and flame‑cutting equipment handling.
• Forklift and hoist operation.
• LOTO (Lock‑out/Tag‑out) procedures.
• Working at heights and compressed‑gas safety.
• Precision measuring tools (micrometers, depth gauges).
• General computer skills for maintenance reporting.
