Maintenance Mechanic – Riverview, FL

About the role

The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on plant and mine equipment at Mosaic’s Riverview facility. The role requires adherence to safety standards and the ability to work with a variety of mechanical systems in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair pumps, fans, turbines, gearboxes, conveyors, and other rotating equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and lubrication on mechanical assets.
• Use hand tools, torches, welding equipment, pneumatic and electric tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Follow PPE, LOTO, lock‑out/tag‑out, confined‑space, and other safety procedures.
• Document work orders and input data into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Participate in safety meetings, pre‑job hazard analyses, and provide feedback on workflow.
• Operate overhead cranes and, when certified, boom trucks, large forklifts, and aerial lifts.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred; associate degree or vocational training in millwright, pipefitter, boilermaker, machinist, or welding preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of industrial mechanical experience or completion of an accredited apprenticeship.
• Experience in the phosphate industry is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and job plans.
