Machine Operator – 2nd Shift

About the role

Alfa Laval is seeking a Machine Operator for the 2nd shift to operate and maintain conventional and special‑purpose machines that fabricate structural parts and assemblies with precision. The role supports production in Tulsa and Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, contributing directly to quality and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Provide materials to workstations and various locations as needed.
• Read blueprints or instructions to determine job specifications.
• Set up, operate, and maintain machines, including loading, machining, unloading, and de‑burring.
• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions for accuracy using precision tools.
• Select and secure tools, fixtures, accessories, and materials.
• Monitor machine operations, detect malfunctions, and make adjustments.
• Replace and install machined parts, ensuring proper functionality.
• Rig and transport structures and products using overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Maintain a tidy work area and follow safety policies.
• Assist team leaders, cross‑train in different areas, and train others as needed.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
• Approximately 1 year of manufacturing experience (preferred).
• Basic math skills and ability to read tape measures and calipers.
• Ability to read blueprints (preferred).
• Forklift operation certification (preferred).
• Overhead crane experience (preferred).

Required skills

• Operation and maintenance of radial drills, fin‑tube machinery, large vertical band saws, presses, brakes and shears.
• Use of precision measuring devices such as calipers and micrometers.
• Rigging and transport using overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Basic machine shop theory, material machinability, and layout techniques.
