Long-term Cabin Engineering Internship

About the role

Airbus is seeking a multi‑semester intern to join the Cabin Engineering Design and Analysis teams in Mobile, AL. The role involves supporting design, analysis, and certification of aircraft interior components while gaining hands‑on experience with industry‑standard tools.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in engineering improvement and innovation projects such as automation, digitalization, API/web application development, and data analytics.
• Generate engineering reports, templates, and organize data to support current projects.
• Attend meetings, record minutes, coordinate with internal and external customers, and assist in developing presentation material.
• Support the department by drafting engineering documents, archiving files, and compiling results data for future reference.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in an accredited 4‑year engineering degree (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace, Civil, Systems, Electrical, Computer Engineering or Computer Science), sophomore level or higher.
• Authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
• Experience leading engineering projects, data science, analytics, or web/API development.

Required skills

• Programming in Python, C++, or R.
• Familiarity with CAD and analysis tools such as MathCAD, Nastran, Patran.
• Experience with data analytics, web/API development, and Microsoft/Google office suites.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, technical procedures, and write reports.
