About the role
The Logistics Analyst supports transportation and logistics operations by collecting, analyzing, and reporting on transportation‑related data. This role works closely with logistics leadership and cross‑functional teams to monitor performance, identify trends, and drive efficiency improvements.
Key responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and maintain data on carrier performance, on‑time delivery, freight costs, and damage trends.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports tracking transportation performance metrics.
- Monitor data for trends, variances, and potential issues; escalate findings to logistics leadership.
- Support root‑cause analysis by gathering data, identifying contributing factors, and documenting findings.
- Maintain accurate transportation datasets for reporting, audits, and operational reviews.
- Analyze routing, carrier usage, mode selection, and consolidation data to identify efficiency opportunities.
- Provide analytical support for transportation optimization and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
- Partner with Inventory, Warehouse Operations, Order Management, and IT teams on logistics process analysis.
- Assist with testing, validation, and documentation of logistics system enhancements.
- Analyze freight claims data, track claim status, and prepare related reports.
- Serve as point of contact for transportation‑related exceptions and provide backup support for Logistics Coordinators during peak periods.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain operations, transportation analysis, or inventory management.
- Demonstrated experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting data to support operational decision‑making.
- Familiarity with WMS, ERP, and transportation‑related systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for presenting data to cross‑functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to obtain multi‑modal hazmat shipping certification within three months of hire.
