About the role

The Livestock Judging Assistant Coach supports the university’s livestock judging program by recruiting, instructing, and coaching student participants. This professional staff position works closely with the athletics department to develop competitive teams and enhance agricultural education.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the livestock judging program, including recruitment, instruction, and competition coaching.
• Coordinate travel, practice schedules, and competition logistics for the team.
• Conduct recruitment activities at high schools, conferences, and community events.
• Develop and maintain relationships with alumni, industry partners, and community organizations.
• Manage program budgets and ensure proper allocation of resources.
• Lead divisional events, clubs, and team activities.
• Update the program website and manage social media presence.
• Design and deliver camps, workshops, and field days for instructors and youth groups.
• Assist in developing and delivering agriculture curriculum, including distance‑learning components.

Required profile

• Experience in livestock judging, agricultural education, or related coaching roles.
• Strong organizational and budgeting skills.
• Ability to travel for recruitment and competition events.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities with students, alumni, and industry partners.
